Governor Paterson, Mayor Bloomberg, the Port Authority of NY/NJ, and others looking out for the transportation needs of the metropolitan area and the northeast corridor of the U.S. should inform the Dolans that they will be taking the property currently occupied by Madison Square Garden by eminent domain. This is truly a case where a substantial public need is greater than the private interests of the MSG ownership. (If the Dolans would like to make some other arrangements, the authorities above should be open to talks. If not, toss them out.)
